  • We Lost each other while trying to find us.

We convince ourselves that life will be better once we are done with school and with a job.

Then we get frustrated because our goals are not met or it is not enough for either of us, and that all will be well as we get older.

Then we are frustrated because the job is eating into our time and we must deal with them. Surely we’ll be happier when we’ve settled this last deal for the company, “just this one left”.

We tell ourselves our life will be better when we get our act together, when we have a nicer car, when we can take a vacation, and when we finally accept each other.

For the longest time, it seemed that life was about to start.
We thought our real life was about to start.

But there was always some obstacle along the way, an ordeal to get through, some work to be finished, some time to be given. Then life would start.

So we missed each other along the way.

It isn't us that are a bad combination. It is just bad timing. We were never on the same page even when we were striving for the same goal. But one of us got there first.

I finally came to understand that those obstacles were supposed to strengthen the bond between us but it drifted us to separate routes instead.

That point of view helped me see that there isn’t any road to happiness.

Our life will always be full of challenges. It is better to admit and nod as much and to be appreciative on what lays on your table in spite of it all.

That point of view helped me see that there isn’t any road to happiness.
But happiness is just a perception.
